Damn it feels good to be a Gangsta.

Posted on Thursday 15 December 2005

Today the following was direct-deposited to my checking account:

 · Regular bi-monthly paycheck.
 · Vacation days check (5 days worth)
 · Fat bonus check.

What I don’t like is the several thousand dollars I had to pay to Uncle Sam, but that is all part of being a Responsible Citizen™.
I agree with the concept of taxes. We must help out others and the whole, and that’s fine by me.
I just didn’t wish I had to pay so much. (~23% of my income)

That’s it? I get less than 69% of my gross check after witholdings and that’s adjusting for my 401(k).

Of course this is just me bitching about my tax burden, not me trying to get into a disksize war.

    Well, P, I can’t start contributing to my 401k here for another 12 days…

Hey, at least you’re not self-employed for the majority of your income. SE Tax will eat your soul. :)

    So, drinks are on Will?

  5. Will Says:

Sure, I’ll buy your drinks, but I’m not paying for airfare.

I live in fear of April - I really need to sit down and talk to my guy and try to pinpoint exactly how much of a beating I’m going to take when tax time rolls around.
